Pidan & Minamikawa
From November 6 (Fri) to 22 (Sun), 2026, aaploit presents Optional Pass, an exhibition by PIDAN & Minamikawa. Minamikawa’s A GAME likens life’s choices to a card game, making visible how society and our values shape the decisions we make. PIDAN’s work cuts up unwanted photographs and misprints and rearranges the fragments, exploring the fluid relationships and forms of love that choice brings about. For this exhibition, materials from both works are digitized and brought onto a single digital canvas, where the two artists take turns manipulating them. Because each choice becomes the condition for the next, the relationships within the original works gradually shift, giving rise to a continuous series of provisional, unfixed states. Through this repetition, the outlines of acts and relationships that had never been recognized as choices begin to emerge.
