The Contemporary Calligraphy Exhibition is annually organized by Seishinsha, founded by Masumi Kunii (1917-2009), hailed as a pioneer in modern calligraphy.

This year marks the 78th anniversary of Kunii's founding of the Seishinsha school. Seventy-two pieces of the scroll and framed works, all of the half-shikishi size, will be exhibited by both domestic and international contributors. Kunii's works will also be on display, showcasing the modern calligraphy style passed down through generations.
