Shotaro Kitada is an artist composing sculptures and creating stories through photographs and videos. Kitada's three-dimensional work provides a sense of "reality" that cannot be found in pictures or computer graphics, and at the same time, the homogeneous world, awkward movements, and sense of scale are somewhat disconcerting. He has been creating unique works that can be taken either seriously or jokingly, combining real events with imaginary stories, utilizing this kind of strange "reality" that cannot be judged instantly through photographs and videos.
In this exhibition, the video work "Moving Is Tiring," inspired by his own experience of moving to a new house, will be the centerpiece of the exhibition. The music is composed by Lullatone, an electronica band based in Nagoya, Japan. The exhibition will be a rare opportunity to see the actual three-dimensional works used in the video, as well as other previously unreleased works. Merchandise produced for the exhibition, as well as collections of previously published works, will also be available for sale.
