The Glass of Art Nouveau - Galle and Daum's Hym to Nature

Kyushu National Museum
Finished
Art Nouveau was the "new art" that took place mainly in France from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The innovative artistry of Art Nouveau, which used the latest materials and techniques to express motifs found in natural forms such as flowers and insects, greatly attracted people. Art Nouveau developed in various fields, including painting, crafts, furniture, and architecture, but it was Emile Gallé and the Dome brothers who led the movement in the field of glass art.

This exhibition provides an overview of the history of glass art since antiquity and presents the beautiful world of Art Nouveau glass, the golden age of glass art.
