Hyejeong Yun, Johanna Riedl, Naomi Shintani Deibel
Are you a tech or a tiger girl on a horse? Mumbling through the whispers of the Kawaii Witches. The exhibition “Whispers of the Kawaii Witches” is a dynamic movement through political minds, expanding bodies, violence, and exercising beauty. Through the landscape of the exhibition, Shintani Deibel‘s horse legs dance among the woods while Yun’s poem brings voices of care workers in the temple performing through the space. The fluidity of Riedl's sound sculptures floats through the space touching bodies, while among them, two glass arms pose to hold weapons in silence. When whispers become a symbolic language – the sense of keeping warm and providing safety arises, drawing inspiration from traditions that echo through our personal historical narratives and imagery. The exhibition space is a stage where various stories interchange their roles, while a touch of cuteness shapes our voices, echoing into a new togetherness.
