Shoo Museum of the Arts was established to honor the contribution of local artists and writers to Japan's art and cultural scene during the Meiji to Showa periods. The museum's collection is based on the former local art museum, which was renovated and opened to the public in 1983. The museum showcases regular special exhibitions and events, alongside a permanent collection of artworks and materials. Gallery space provides a platform for local artists to showcase their work and encourages artistic creativity in the community. Moreover, the museum organizes outreach programs and workshops to make art accessible to the local community.

The Nariwa Museum opened in 1953 as Okayama Prefecture's first municipal art museum to honor the legacy of Torajiro Kojima, a Western-style painter born in Nariwa town. Designed by architect Tadao Ando, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of harmony between the concrete walls and the surrounding trees.
