Artists

Mario Giacomelli
Mario Giacomelli was an amateur photographer who was born in Senigallia in northeast Italy. Throughout his entire life, he took photographs almost exclusively in and of his hometown. He was a representative Italian postwar photographer who is highly regarded in Europe and America but little known in Japan. This exhibition introduces Giacomelli's work as a kind of reality made abstract through photography, including his representative works of seminaries and vast landscapes, right up to work from his late career.
