Tokyo University of the Arts invites a researcher and an artist to discuss the topic “Artists Are Exploited?!” Kazuhiro Yamamoto, a curator, translator of Hans Abbing’s book “Why Are Artists Poor: The Exceptional Economy of the Arts,” and a researcher of how labor and economic theories pertain to the art world, will discus his findings on how artists survive. Joining Yamamoto is sculptor Motohiro Tomii, who will talk about his own experiences in creating and expanding activities of self-expression. (In Japanese)
