In his photographs, Tomoyuki Sagami records traces of buildings and lives that he has encountered while wandering throughout the city, documenting eras and spaces that are disappearing amidst the bustle of the present day metropolis. Can his images of buildings destined to fade away be considered as belonging to the historical past, or to the present? Where do cities, societies, lives go? Such questions can be explored through Sagami’s works.
