Photographer Fumio Nabata has launched a project to take pictures of children with Down Syndrome around the world. He has already taken photographs in Japan, the United Kingdom, Myanmar, and South Africa. In London in 2018, he collaborated with British photographers Richard Bailey and Fiona Yaron-Field, who also photograph people with Down Syndrome.
With the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo in the summer of 2021, one of the themes is “Unity in Diversity.” Many people are moving toward a society where all humans can coexist. We would like to utilize this opportunity as an agent of change in society.
