This exhibition features approximately 50 outstanding works of painting, calligraphy, and ceramics from the collections of the Gotoh Museum of Art and the Daitohkyuu Memorial Collection, all based on the theme of “cool/refreshing”. On display are waterfalls and heat-absorbing landscapes depicted in Japanese paintings, elegant Zen Buddhist ink brush strokes, ancient calligraphy of autumn and winter waka poems, cool celadon porcelain, white porcelain, and blue-and-white pottery with beautiful indigo colors. As a special exhibit, the museum’s lacquerware collection will also be on display.
