Takashi Katayama
The eighth exhibition in the ‘Ginza Tsutaya Art Party’ series featuring up-and-coming artists, will feature an exhibition by Takashi Katayama, an artist who has been working on the theme of the proportions of humans and nature.

Starting with his selection for the 2011 VOCA exhibition, Katayama’s work has been shown through continuous solo and group exhibitions, and recently he attracted attention by participating in the grand opening exhibition of ANB Tokyo in 2020.

His matiere and monochrome paintings, which seem to erase the sense of existence as an object, seem to refuse the viewer’s emotional input, while at the same time, they can be considered as one of his eyes and perceptions of the world caused by friction with everyday life and society. In this exhibition, the paintings cut into rectangles, or the rectangles themselves will be the motifs, posing mysterious questions to the visual experience.
