In April 2020, Kawauchi found a swallow nest in her neighborhood and began photographing the swallows raising their young.
The work will be published in the latest issue of ‘Des Oiseaux,’ a series of photo books by famous photographers from around the world who have captured “birds” from their own perspectives. In this exhibition, Kawauchi’s new work, ‘Des Oiseaux,’ will be the centerpiece of a carefully selected selection of bird images from her past series, including ‘Hajimari no Hi’ and ‘Light and Shadow,’ which will be exhibited in the four-story MA2 space.
