Lee Izumida
Raised in Hokkaido, Japan, Lee Izumida began painting at an early age, studied in the United States, and is now based in Tokyo. Izumida is an artist who has gained a great deal of sympathy for her own work, as well as for a wide range of other areas of expression, including murals, store windows, advertisements, and collaborations with fashion brands.
This exhibition presents new works that strongly reflect the nostalgia that Izumida felt in the suspended world due to COVID-19. For Izumida, the magnificent nature, family, and friends of her hometown in Hokkaido have provided the emotional support she needs to move forward with peace of mind in any situation.
