Chiharu Shiota "I to Eye"

Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka
Starts 9/14

Artists

Chiharu Shiota
This is the first large-scale solo exhibition by Chiharu Shiota (b. 1972) in her hometown of Osaka in 16 years. Shiota, who is currently based in Berlin and active internationally, confronts the fundamental human issues of "life and death" and continues to question "what it means to live" and "what it means to exist" through her works.

This exhibition aims to approach the "connection" with others, which we have become undeniably aware of after experiencing the global outbreak of infectious diseases, through the three "eyes" - "I", "eye", and "ai". Through works using a variety of techniques, including installations, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and videos, this exhibition will be a time of intimate dialogue with the "connected I."
