Yukio Fukazawa and the World of Literature

Ichihara Lakeside Museum

#Prints

Starts 9/29

Artists

Yukio Fukazawa et al.
Fukazawa was one of Japan’s leading printmakers and an honorary citizen of Ichihara. Deeply interested in literature, Fukazawa created numerous illustrations for literary works, including collections of poems by Kenji Miyazawa. By drawing inspiration from words and translating them into visual form, Fukazawa explored the expressive potential of illustration. This exhibition features etchings inspired by works by writers including Edgar Allan Poe, Sakutaro Hagiwara and Chuya Nakahara.
