Ichihara Lakeside Museum

Photo: Tadashi Endo

The museum is a renovation of an exhibition facility built in 1995. All the finishing materials of the existing building were stripped away, leaving only the concrete structure, and steel folded plate walls called "art walls" were inserted to create exhibition rooms, lounges, and halls. Making use of the original unique framework allows visitors to experience the old and the new, artwork and activities, and the rich surrounding environment of lakes and greenery, all in one place, as they continuously walk around the inside and outside of the building.

Through our original projects, we provide a fresh look at what people can experience by coming to an art museum in today's society.
