Eisei-Bunko Museum has been open to the public since 1972, becoming a registered museum under the Museum Law in 1973. The building was constructed in the early Showa period as a housekeeping office for the former Marquis Hosokawa family. The museum's collection was donated by Moritatsu and Morisada Hosokawa and is exhibited to the public in four periods each year, focusing on artistic handicrafts.
