Designed by Kentaro Ishida of Herzog & de Meuron, a Swiss architectural firm that has built numerous museum buildings around the world, the spacious gallery space will host four to six exhibitions a year by artists from Japan and abroad. Second-generation gallerist and owner Kotaro Nukaga currently has two galleries in Tokyo and Osaka, as well as an office in London. The recently opened gallery in Tennozu, which bears his name, will present a completely different concept from the existing galleries. We will grow the gallery with artists we have met, empathized with, and been inspired by in Japan and abroad and with whom we feel we can contribute together to contemporary society and the current art scene.
