The Museum of Kyoto

The Museum of Kyoto introduces Kyoto culture that is rooted in everyday life and created from people's free and innovative ideas. The museum is a multipurpose facility that aims to inspire new concepts by learning from Kyoto's excellent traditions and culture.
The museum consists of the permanent exhibition and the special exhibition. The permanent exhibition is composed of three parts: There is the history museum where one can learn about Kyoto's history and culture; the art museum that displays works by Kyoto's Japanese painters, western painters, sculptors, and artisans; and the film library that holds screenings of films related to Kyoto. At the special exhibition space, themed exhibitions are held frequently.
