Ashiya City Museum of Art and History

Since its opening in 1991, Ashiya City Museum of Art and History has contributed to the promotion of local culture by collecting, preserving, researching, and studying modern and contemporary artworks, mainly by artists associated with Ashiya, as well as cultural assets and archaeological materials related to the nature and history of Ashiya. We aim to be an art museum where citizens can feel free to drop in, providing opportunities for citizens to come into contact with art. We also aim to be an art museum that helps children to experience and be moved by art.
