A Tokaido "Miya" inn. The former inn "Isekyu" stood facing the old Shichiri Ferry pier.
The building is believed to have been constructed in the first half of the 19th century, as it is said to have had a building tag dated 1808.
The Niwa House was a side inn of the Miyajuku (Atsuta) inn, which was a major stop on the Tokaido Highway and a ferry crossing point for the ferry to Kuwana. The gabled entrance still retains its prestigious appearance, and a lantern box with the names of the feudal lords of the western part of the country is still kept here. In "Owari Meisho Zue, Shichiri-Tosubune-arari" painted by Mori Takamasa in 1841, an inn that may have been the Niwa House is depicted.
