“Nadoya" is a venue and concept, with the objective to create a place that is sensitive to diversified developments and changes in art, culture, food, and lifestyle. In order to start the project in 2020, we have established bases in Ebisu and Yoyogi Uehara - all of which are 60-year-old japanese private houses that otherwise would have been demolished in a few years to come - and are continuing to renovate them while retaining the texture of the buildings and studying construction methods. The project is intended to create an alternative space that can be used for a variety of purposes, including exhibitions, atelier, private kitchen, and residences, and to function as a creative exchange hub by inviting people to participate in experimental projects. At “nadoya ebisu", the first floor of the wall facing the street has been opened wide to create a “fuyu (=floating) gallery," where artworks will be exhibited on a monthly basis.
