Spanish is the 4th most spoken language in the world and is considered the 2nd most important language in international communication. Founded in Spain in 1991, Instituto Cervantes is the largest institution dedicated to the spreading of the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures. The institute is also committed to promoting various languages in multilingual countries such as Spain.
Services provided by the institute include online lessons, certifications, teacher education, cultural programs, library services, radio and TV programming, database services, etc. in the Spanish, Catalan, Basque, and Galician languages.
