Nishimura Gallery

The gallery opened in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo in 1974. The gallery has introduced British contemporary art, which was still unfamiliar in Japan at the time, mainly by David Hockney, Peter Blake, Richard Hamilton, and Lucian Floyd. In 2006, the gallery moved to Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, and in 2012, a visual history of the gallery, "35 Years of Nishimura Gallery +," was published by Kyuryudo.
