Art Gallery Miyauchi

Art Gallery Miyauchi is a private gallery located in the western part of Hiroshima, Hatsukaichi city. We curate various kinds of programs such as exhibitions introducing Hiroshima-related artists and emerging artists, talk events, and creative workshops for children. We also coordinate an artist residency program and planned exhibitions by artists.

Art Gallery Miyauchi is managed by the Miyauchi Art Foundation as a part of the medical corporation Miyauchi Group. It is certified as a museum facility. The gallery’s main collection is about 200 pieces of Miyoko Shijo’s collection (all donated). She was the owner of Gallery Fukurou (1966-1986) and dedicated her life to nurturing and introducing artists from Hiroshima. The collection includes the works by artists from Hiroshima in the pre-and-post-war eras; Hiroshima, Hatsukaichi, Miyajima related works; and contemporary artworks.
