On 29th July 2023, “Richter Raum” opened in a forested area of Karuizawa. Over the past 30 years, Wako Works of Art has been working with the German artist, Gerhard Richter. We are pleased to open a new space in Karuizawa, where works by Richter are permanently installed. With the cooperation of the artist, the space has been partly modelled after Atelier Richter. Barely an hour from Tokyo, in woods reminiscent of the leafy suburbs outside Cologne, it shall offer visitors an opportunity to experience the work and world of Gerhard Richter.
