Akita Museum of Modern Art

Akita Museum of Modern Art opened in Akita Furusato Mura on April 20, 1994. The museum has a collection of works painted by artists associated with Akita from the late Edo period to the present, including "Akita Ranga" produced by feudal lords and feudal warriors in the mid to late Edo period. It holds special exhibitions, special exhibitions, and collection exhibitions to introduce various art forms. In addition, with the aim of becoming an art museum that is accessible to all, the museum actively engages in educational activities such as art museum lectures, and art museum classes where visitors can enjoy hands-on creative activities.

From the East exit of JR Yokote Station, take the Ugo Kotsu bus and get off at Akitafrusatomura. The venue is 7 minute walk from there.
