Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Literature

As a center of Yamanashi literature, the museum exhibits manuscripts, letters, and personal belongings of such literary figures associated with Yamanashi as Ichiyo Higuchi, Osamu Dazai, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Dakotsu Iida, and Ryuta Iida. The Akutagawa collection is known as one of the best in Japan, with approximately 5,000 items including drafts of "Rashomon" and "The Nose".

From the South exit of Kofu Station on the JR Chuo line, take the bus for Shikishima Eigyosho or Nirasaki Station or Kugawa Danchi and get off at Yamanashi Kenritsu Bijutsukan-mae. The venue is a short walk from there.
