Island Japan Co., Ltd. was established in 2010 in Tokyo. The first space was a large warehouse in Kashiwa, and then a small gallery opened at 3331arts Chiyoda. The first exhibition at 3331 was a solo exhibition by Hiraku Suzuki. Since then, the gallery has introduced many innovative young artists.

Yu Ito exhibited at Frieze Art Fair and LISTE Art Fair as a director for Magical and Artroom, and also served as art director for The Echo -Japan Art Now-, 101 Tokyo International Art Fair and curator for Roppongi Art Night and Tennoz Art Festival.

In 2016, the gallery moved to Jingumae Block House. In 2019, Harukaito by island opened on the 2nd floor. Our mission is to strengthen our management and establish a system for promoting artists in Japan and overseas. As part of Terrada Art Complex we started Buckle Kobo on Keihinjima and directed Iron Island Festival and Tokyo Canal Links.
