The museum was opened in April 2006 with a donation from the Nakamura Kenichi Memorial Art Museum. The museum's goal is to become a hub for citizens' artistic and cultural activities by providing a museum and educational programs that encourage citizen participation and engagement. The museum changes its exhibitions about four times a year. Special exhibitions planned by the museum are held once or twice a year in addition to the exhibition of works from the collection and works by Kenichi Nakamura.

Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays
Note:Open on a public holiday Monday but closed the following day. Closed during the New Year holidays and in between exhibitions.

Adults ¥200, Junior High and Elementary School Students ¥100, Persons with Disability Certificates + 1 Companion free. Special Exhibition Fees may be charged separately.

15 minute walk from the South exit of Musashi Koganei Station on the JR Chuo line; from the South exit of JR Musashi Koganei Station, take the bus and get off at Hakenomori Art Museum. The venue is 1 minute walk from there.
