This event has ended.

"Artist Kigdom" is a series of exhibitions featuring artists from Gunma Prefecture. The 4th exhibition of this series presents "psychological landscapes" by two female artists, Yoko Negishi and Ayako Mizumura.

Yoko Negishi (1976-) creates copperplate prints portraying mysterious images of an illusionistic yet naturalistic world. The monochrome surface expresses the wind, temperature, and sound. Negishi has exhibited at major printmaking exhibitions such as "Kochi International Printmaking Triennale" and "Currents in Modern Prints: To the Future..."

Ayako Mizumura's (1969-) paintings are often characterized by the translucent surface achieved by the multiple layers of paint. Intense moments can be felt in her abstract expressions. Her solo exhibition, curated by Gallery Yamaguchi, is scheduled in 2008, and her work will be included in the VOCA exhibition next spring.
