Izuru Kasahara “Fluffly Limbo/Treatment”
This event has ended.
This exhibition presents a few images selected from the countless circulated on the internet. With media such as SNS and YouTube that let anyone post these innumerable images and videos online, our perception of the boundaries between images and their real backgrounds is disappearing. The concept of originality is breaking down, and the notion of what constitutes a “copy” is also becoming ambiguous in the current age. Izuru Kasahara believes that these new realities in which images wander alone, detached from contexts of specific times and places, are part of what he calls “the fragmentation of human society”.
