Exhibition “New Intimacies”

Ends in 11 days
Closed Today (Tuesday)

Institutions, exhibitions, publications, and art criticism – the various mechanisms of the art world - all revolve around the individual style of the singular artist. The relationships between the artist and his/her peers seems to remain in the background. Questions arise. How could we know if two artists sharing a studio influence each other? How could their ideas emerge out of discussions at the dinner table? Or how could their perceptions be shaped by the mutual experience of traveling together? This exhibition invites art couples (artists, gallerists, and curators) and asks each “couple” to make artwork as a collaboration.

[Couples]
Marico Aoki (Artist) + Yutaka Watanabe (Artist), Miyuki Akiyama (Artist) + Takuya Ikezaki (Artist), Ulala Imai (artist) + Yu Nishimura (artist), Shunsuke Imai (artist) + Laibo (Black spiny-tailed iguana), Satoru Eguchi (artist) + Satomi Matsuzaki (DEERHOOF), Maki Katayama (artist) + Masaya Chiba (artist), Kaoru Kan (artsit) + Kazuhito Tanaka (artist), COBRA (artist) + Yui Yaegashi (artist), Kazuyuki Takezaki (artist) + Mizuki Takezaki (curator)、Naho Masumoto (Hozonshoku Lab) + Yasuto Masumoto (artist) , Jeffrey Rosen (gallerist) + Misako Rosen (gallerist)
