Hitoshi Okamoto Special Exhibition

Kirishima Open-air Museum, Kagoshima

poster for Hitoshi Okamoto Special Exhibition

Ends in 38 days

This is an exhibition of Hitoshi Okamoto, an editor who has been introducing “interesting things and things” that the times demand, and creating and offering values that lead to trends and culture. In 2010, Okamoto edited the book “My Guide to Kagoshima,” in which he took up ordinary everyday events and encouraged people to discover valuable things rooted in society.

In this exhibition, Okamoto introduces the process of “editing,” a process of gathering, selecting, and weaving together things and topics, by exhibiting his editions and related artists’ works in a structure that resembles turning the pages of a magazine. The exhibition will also present new talents that Okamoto has encountered through workshops and other events, as well as suggestions for things and things that are necessary for the future.
