The four artists featured in this exhibition, while rooted in various parts of Asia, have turned their attention to matters that have been obscured in society, and have attempted to refer to the relationships between humans and other beings that transcend conventional definitions. May Honma has been conducting research on pregnancy and childbirth in Indonesia and Japan. Kensaku Seki covers a community of young people living in Bhutan. Renuka Rajiv looks at the diversity of human life in India from the perspective of gender and sexuality. And in the heart of Tokyo, Moeko Kageyama tries to depict an existence that transcends the concept of species, such as humans, animals, and plants. Their works show an attitude of expanding and transcending concepts, rather than redrawing new boundaries after deconstructing existing definitions.
