Since its opening in 1997, Utsunomiya Museum of Art has built its collection on the three pillars of “Life and Art,” “Regionality and Art,” and “Environment and Art.” As of April 2021, it holds a collection of nearly 7,000 works with a focus on art and design from the 20th century onward. This exhibition introduces the collection according to its principles, giving a thorough overview of its composition. There is also a special section on graphic design for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

From the West exit of JR Utsunomiya Station, take the Kanto bus towards to Utsunomiya Museum of Art via Toyosatodai and Teikyo University and get off at Utsunomiya Museum of Art. 20 minutes by taxi from JR Utsunomiya Station.
