Ends in 10 days
Fuyuhiko Takada creates pop culture-inspired, humorous video works that reference diverse themes and images, including religion, mythology, fairytales, sexuality, gender, narcissism, and trauma. Most of his works are filmed in a secret room in his apartment and are marked by performances with a hand-crafted feeling and sometimes erotic expressions. Their stories, which seem nonsensical at first, point to a variety of problems in human society. This exhibition presents five of Takada’s works: “The Princess and the Magic Birds (Provisional Title)” – a new video about adolescent sexuality – plus two other new works along with two previous works. This is Takada’s first exhibition at Waitingroom and his first show in two years.
