Chiemi Ogura “Shorelines of the Heart”
Huls Gallery Tokyo
Ends in 2 days
HULS Gallery Tokyo will hold an exhibition featuring the works of Chiemi Ogura, a bamboo craft artist from Kyoto, titled “Shorelines of the Heart”.
The word “shoreline” is translated from the Japanese word “migiwa”, which means the boundary between land and water, such as the sea and lakes. The artist creates each piece of work, hoping that the craft artist and the user care about and sympathize with each other with their two hearts meeting at the “shoreline”, where tradition intertwines with modern-day lives. Through this contemplation, Ogura’s works are made by hand delicately like intricate embroidery.
In this exhibition, expressing this conceptual image of shorelines (the boundary between the artist’s and the user’s heart, along with the boundary of traditional crafts), we will exhibit a collection of exquisite accessories which includes rings and bangles, coasters, small plates, and one-of-a-kind flower baskets. We hope you will enjoy the beautiful and elegant bamboo works.
