Edgar Degas Exhibition
This event has ended.
Edgar Degas (1834 – 1917) was a master artist who painted the modern city life of Paris from an objective standpoint. Although many of the Impressionists painted outdoors to capture the light and color of the open air, Degas worked mostly in the studio, creating an intelligent poetic world of his own by depicting the movement of dancers and horses as well as the artificial lights of the city. This retrospective exhibition, held with the support of the Musée d’Orsay, is Degas' first in Japan in 21 years, featuring a total of 120 masterpieces, ranging from his early years to his later period,
